Merry Christmas!

Even with one kid in the house the Christmas magic still thrives. It thrives slightly different, but as a much older mom I do my best to make it special. I still hang stockings but instead of them being filled with candy and trinkets they literally just hang for decoration. See, not all my kids come home every Christmas. Once they get married, graduate from college and have real jobs, they come home less and less. However, I still manage to put up a tree and have a few gifts under the tree. They may not be material things, but they are little things that they can use.

This year my daughter Lexie and her husband are the only ones that flew out and the fact that they took a couple days of from they're jobs, having them here is the best gift from them! We don't ask for anything and are grateful for our health and to wake up each day. A clean check up at our age is a great present! LOL! And of course, the greatest gift of all is Christ. Because of Him we have our children and a heart filled with LOVE! Love and family are the greatest gifts in life. So even though our family is spread out, and the stockings are no longer filled with fewer gifts under the tree, having our kids home and face timing with our new grand baby and family across the country is a blessing… and the greatest gift of all.

Wishing everyone a happy holiday season with so much joy, peace and hope in the new year!
