The Homecoming Of Hermana Jorgensen!

I can't let the month of September go by without writing about Lexie's return from her church mission. She flew in late on a warm Tuesday night in August around 11pm and I couldn't believe how awake I was. It was so nice to have had all my crew to welcome her home including one of her dearest friends from high school. Owen is literally one of my favorites and he has always treated Lexie with respect. He was such a great sport to have waited with us so late and to have visited with us before we left. She was super excited to see him and we were super thrilled to see her. I could tell she needed mom hugs more than anything. I'm sure every missionary who returns home is so thankful to have survived and made it home to their families. Especially during a pandemic and I am extremely grateful that The Lord watched out for our daughter these past 16 months. What an amazing feeling to have her home with us and that she will be here with us until Christmas! Now that's exciting.

Now for some welcome home photos...

Sorry Homecoming, But I Have Priorities.

When I asked Lexie when homecoming was she said she wasn't sure that she would check the date to make sure it didn't fall during women's session, or my birthday weekend. Sure enough it did, because homecoming was early this year., and I was pretty bummed for her.

Karlee's Return From New Caledonia.

Attending missionary farewells, and homecomings have become an important part of my life. It seems the older my children, and I get the more I want to be strengthened by the light the youth have. I love hearing about the young men, and women who have been called to serve a church mission. I notice the excitement on their face as they mention putting their papers in, and the light of love in their countenance as they get their mission call, It's a mixture of joy, and nervousness, but the end result of sacrificing those 18 months to two years of their life to serve the Lord is worth all the blessings that they will receive once they return home, and for the rest of their life.

Homecoming 2012

Dear Sierra,
As I look at this photo I see a group of good kids with happy faces looking forward to an exciting Homecoming evening. I know that you were looking forward to this night, and I am so happy  that you were able to spend it with your fellow band mates... especially since this is your senior year.
Noah would have been your date if he was tall enough!

Y'all look so lovely-Brianna, Sierra, & Chanelle
I knew you would make court, and its exciting to know that someone nominated you for Homecoming queen. Friday can't come soon enough!
This boy JC...yeah, he was a cool dude.
You always look so beautiful, and we couldn't be more pleased in the way you present herself with maturity, and in living your standards. Yet, always having room for fun!

For someone who is not a"native" of New Jersey you have made such wonderful friends in the past four years of living here, and your resilience in doing so is remarkable. I see how everyone loves you for who you are, and respects you in all that you do.
You'll always be daddy's girl!
LOVE these girls!
When I attended 'back to school' night last week every one of your teachers told me how gifted & talented you are as a student, and a young woman. One particular teacher told me that you are like a rose blooming...always happy & smiling.

Yep... that's our baby, and we love you for that!
And even if you don't make Homecoming queen...you'll always be our Queen.

Love,
Mom
