Homeschooling for the past three months wasn't challenging at first but in between the frustrations of having a teenager wishing her teachers were more specific about her assignments (the woes of an honors student) and the fact that Noah would rather have his teacher explain math to him "more better than me" wasn't too terrible. I have learned a lot of lessons while wearing the teachers hat during quarantine! Such as really appreciating them and all that they deal with in teaching our children! And as much as I didn’t mind having them for the past three months I am happy sooooooooo that remote learning is over! These kids were literally ROCKSTARS throughout the whole quarantine-stay-at-home-school thing! One thing I never had to do was tell them to wake up. Chelsea was always on time to attend early morning seminary at 7am and do her homework (even though she'd complain a bit) and same with Noah. He truly was a champ throughout this whole time being away from his friends, and...recess! So happy that they both passed on to the next grade level with flying colors. Cheers to the end of freshman year in high school and the fourth grade! Hello to sophomore year and officially becoming a fifth grader!

Last Day Of Second Grade!
Noah has advanced to the third grade and we couldn't be more proud. He has certainly advanced in the two years he has been in this school, and we are so grateful for his teacher this year. His reading, and comprehension skills has improved, and although he loves socializing it seems as if he toned it down a bit toward the end of the year. Reading his teachers remarks on his report made me smile BIG! I can tell that he was a joy to teach, and that he in fact did enjoy coming to school to learn, and of course have recess!

Happy Summer!
Today is the last day of school for all the kids, and the first day of summer!! I can't believe how fast this year went by. I look back, and think to myself-how in the world is this school year done! I mean, we only moved here last summer, and feel as if the kids just started school! It's crazy, and amazing at the same time! I also think of how slow the winter months kind of were this year, but in reality they did quickly pass us by. I merely reflect on focusing on the summer months when the weather gets cold, wet, and soggy. I know they won't last, and just like that they didn't. Summer is going to be the same way. No matter how much I'd like summer to last it won't. And that's okay, because my next favorite season comes right after.

LAST DAY OF FOURTH GRADE & OFFICIALLY A FIFTH GRADER.
So I'm in the final stages of getting over the worst summer cold ever! Being out in the heat all day strawberry picking, and then coming home to a cold air-conditioned house did not help! It was bound to happen since I hadn't gotten sick in like three years. Gotta build up that immune system. Anyway, while in recovery with my equate mucous multi-symptom cough syrup, the best part of today is that Chelsea is now officially a fifth grader! She passed with flying colors, and although she's excited she sure is going to miss her friends, and teachers. She truly loves school, and so far is not one of those kids who says, "I hate school." I have a feeling she's going to go through a little bit of withdrawal. Luckily her teacher sent home a myriad of summer packets to keep their summer busy with work. I have a feeling that she'll only do a few though. She has had a very good year, and I had a good year with her. Not one incident, or disappointment when it came to the school, or with her teacher.
Ms. Kelly is your ideal 4th grade dream teacher. I wish I had a thousand bucks to give her, because she contributes so much to the kids. She was very thorough when it came to sending announcements via email every Friday. I can see why Chelsea will miss Ms. Kelly, because I will miss her too!
Lexie still has another three days of school (darn those snow days!) Luckily their only half days, because I'll tell you waking up at 5:30 every morning for seminary really took a toll on her. She still has a lot of catching up to do on her sleep, but somehow managed to keep her GPA above a 3.75. I'm very proud of both my girls for their auspicious achievements, and hope that they'll keep it up in all the years to come.
Peace out, and a happy wednesday to you!
