Princeton Tulips With A Flashback Link!

Last
week before the rain hit and when the tulips were in full bloom we ventured out in our neck of the woods and treated Noah to a walk on Nassau street for some gyoza and a mango slushee from Kung Fu tea. Passing these tulips, stopping by Lindt chocolate and prancing around Palmer square brought back memories of the last time I took Noah out here on a little date. The tulips were bright and colorful. Cheerful. It was a perfect day with perfect weather. Sunny. The piano on display was a unique touch and even though Noah was too shy to play a tune he let me capture him in front of it as if he was about to play.

A perfect moment and a perfect memory for the books.

Tulip Time!

It's been two years since we went tulip picking and when I saw all the posts on social media being posted about tulips knew I had to take the kids and go! We started this tradition five years ago when we moved to central jersey and being that we are less than 20 minutes away from Holland Ridge Farms just had to go. Luckily spring break is still ongoing and so the kids didn't miss school nor did we have to rush through the field to pick. In all honesty I come here mostly for photos and only end up buying like five tulips at a dollar a stem (best deal) but just the feeling of walking through the fields trying to find that perfect tulip gives off so much energy. It definitely gives off that "spring is definitely here" vibe and we are here for it! The weather was perfect. The crowds were tolerable and there was enough social distancing to go around. The tulips are vibrant and better looking this year. Such a beautiful time of year to go tulip picking and I suggest to go now because I have a feeling they will only be around for another week or so!

Now for some photos!

Beginning March With LOVE!

As you walk down 4th avenue in the west village you'll spot the most inspiring, happy decorative door designed by Carl Tallent. Each season the door at 309 is painted in various colors with themes and depending on the season he'll install flowers that will stand out and brighten up your day. Whether it's in the winter or spring you can always rely on this tiny stoop to have a decorated shiny spot to ponder and smile (and sometimes sit for a quick photo) as you walk by.

Spring Time In The City!

Here I am in the middle of Autumn and barely documenting about our spring adventures in the city. I have to say that spring in New York City is my favorite and I encourage everyone to go around that time if you haven't! It is so beautiful with all the flowering trees. Especially in Central Park. Chelsea and I took a trip to Long Island City and the tulips were vibrant and perfectly blossomed. There are also so many spring installations that are now taken down but how grateful I am to have been able to witness such beauty in the spring. Here are a few photos I took in Long Island City as well as the upper west side near the American Museum of Natural History. I have sooooo many spring pictures tthat never got documented on here and I hope you enjoy. So that maybe next time you visit the city in the spring you can see how beautiful it is in hopes that you get to see it in person!

A Lovely Walk In Society Hill, PA!

Our little adventures have become more sporadic these days and lately we have been venturing out to places away from our comfort zone because it's whats needed to snap me out of my funk and for the kids to relieve stress from being on zoom all day. We are so lucky to live close to some amazing states that include NYC, Pennsylvania, D.C. and Connecticut (New England area). Philly and New York are the two closest places to venture out on the daily or when time permits us and lately it has. The weather has been perfect for sometime now with a little scattered showers here and there but that doesn't prevent us from going out. I love these kids how they still like to get outside and simply...LIVE.

Especially Noah. His generation requires all technology these days but the only time he's on technology all day is when he's on zoom. He's as old school as it gets. All my kids are. And I love it. A few things I wrote about Noah on my Instagram that made me think while taking this beautiful walk in Society Hill among these lovely tulips were...

A Mother's Day Re-Cap.

Although this Mother's Day was different it was definitely memorable. One doesn't need to have a huge celebration to feel loved and to be honest all my past mothers days have pretty much been simple and extra sweet. Since both our families live across the country we don't have any one coming over nor do we. For the past 14 years it has always just been us, and I actually like it that way. I do hope that when my kids get older and have a family of their own that they will come visit me if we live on the same side of the world. Other than that it's always the little things that matter. The simple joys. The simplicity of a homemade card with a drawing on the front cover. Uttering those three words Happy. Mother's. Day. Burned toast, and raw eggs for breakfast. Oh wait, that was when the girls were little! Seriously though...hugs and kisses, a good hamburger, laughter and a simple walk through a tulip garden makes this momma happy. And a quick trip to D.C. to eat at Cookout and take in the temple under construction was a treat too! These great kids-I'm so honored to be their momma, and so happy that Lexie got to spend one last Mummy's Day with me before she took off on her missionMore pics below...

A Touch Of Spring In A Photo On A Rainy Day.

Last Friday it snowed and it's been raining off and on since then! Looking at this photo from last spring brings all kinds of smiles to my face and helps me look forward to the bright colors of spring. Even though I have fresh flowers in my house every other week nothing beats the outdoors during springtime to take in the smell of different types of flowers, and these tulips! I love tulips! So beautiful, and rich in color, and probably my next favorite flower.
