5th Grade In The Books!
Noah's 5th grade promotion happened a week before school ended and we were lucky enough to attend an in person ceremony to celebrate these hardworking kids for putting up with zoom school all year long! I know there were many times when Noah would get frustrated or even bored with his classes particularly coding class because he literally would say that the assignments were too easy and not challenging enough. I wasn't crazy about some of his teachers and how they taught but at the end of the day I realized that we are all in this together and would give them the benefit of the doubt over and over again. But let's be real...I loathed zoom school at the end of the last six weeks of school and wasn't fond of two of his teachers because they didn't seem to give the remote students equal attention but enough of my whining because it is over!!!! I only hope that next year will be different and that somewhat it will be back to normal and that they will all be in person full time! I am thankful that Noah has 5th grade in the books and that he will begin 6th grade in three months! I can't believe my baby is growing up and that our elementary school days are over! It was fun being a room mom, and volunteering at school events for all my kids while they were in elementary but unfortunately things come to an end. And in spite of a final stressful, zoom school year we all managed to survive it and I am grateful that I was able to be at home with my kids while it happened! Congratulations Noah for surviving such a weird, and different school year!
Now for some photos!

Raining Tacos.
While we were in the city we spotted this cute mural with raining tacos and since it's Tuesday thought it was fitting to post it today! Noah is always such a good sport at taking pictures and the umbrella painted on the wall was perfect for his height. I captured this picture of him and it's hard to believe that he is in fact growing up. I hope that as long as we find spots in the city that are picture worthy that he will always oblige to taking pictures. The mural is part of Ottos tacos which permanently closed during the pandemic. I never got the chance to eat there but when I looked it on yelp their tacos looked delicious. Too bad I didn't get to try them. Not sure if they'll ever open back up but this location was in the west village on 88th street I believe. Anyway, happy Tuesday and go eat some tacos!

Domino Park - Summer 2020
There are sooooo many parks to explore during the summertime and not enough time. Especially when you don't live in the city. Domino Park is one of those parks that I would love to frequent more. I'm sure that if I lived in the city I would be venturing out more to this quaint gem and enjoy all the different installations they display throughout the years. Last year they had this DOT candy display which was interesting and we just walked around and sat and relaxed while eating popsicles. It truly is amazing knowing that we live close to one of the most greatest cities in the world. A place where there are tons of places to escape and explore as a family. I love the New York vibe it gives and seeing these pictures from last year is bittersweet. No masks. No fear. Just pure fun with safety not having a care in the world. Here's hoping we will get to that point one of these years. One can only hope! Enjoy the flashback photos!

June Is Here!
So far June has been hot and humid and wet. A couple weeks after having surgery we escaped to the ocean where we can hear the waves crash and the seagulls sing. It was a much needed getaway. Those 65 minutes away from home was the remedy that I needed after being cooped up in a room with four walls. The kids forgot how the sun felt on their face. Their cheeks turned red within seconds but as we continued to walk further into the beach feeling the sand in our toes they forgot about the scorching heat. And ran against the waves and tagged each other back and forth. All Jon wanted to do was relax and lay on the sand but to no avail. We sat and stared at the sun on a bench where Chelsea captured our smiles. He didn't mind. He was just happy to have been at the beach with us where packages aren't delivered. It was a beautiful pre-summer hot day and fun family beach day and we look forward to more days like these this summer!
Happy June! Enjoy the picture vomit!
