Little Letters- In Memory of Our Spring Break.

Dear Rutgers Gardens,

Your simple garden is absolutley quaint and perfect. It is perfect for a walk any time of day. My children loved the smell of gardenia, and all the flowers that were planted. I also appreciate you being free of charge!

Easter Sunday In Virginia.

I have to admit that some of my closest and dearest friends are those I've known for more than 20 years and live a faaaaarrrrrr distance from me. Sure I have met some great people here but overall time, contact, and genuine love are required for a true friendship to last.

A Simple Little Egg Hunt!

This is the time of year where spring days are meant to be spent outside. With everything that was once brown having turned into pink blooming trees motivates us to spend time outdoors, and when you add clear blue skies, and sunshine to the mix calls for a little egg hunt.

Cascarones For Days!!!

Get ready because this post is going to be filled with nothing but confetti. Confetti as in photos of my small crew of three cracking cascarones (confetti eggs) on each others heads laughing, and smiling for days! It's a tradition that I grew up with, and never stopped doing. I started it with my family when the kids were little, and even with two kids left in the house the traditon continues. Now for some perfectly blurry photos...

Tulip Festival At Holland Ridge Farms!

On our first official day of spring break the tulip festival at Holland Ridge Farms was happening and even though there was rain in the forecast decided to go in hopes that we would get our tulip picking on without getting caught in it. We were lucky, and spent most of our day there picking, eating, walking, and of course, capturing moments of the kids as they were surrounded by beautiful tulips and flowers in all their glory. Without getting rained on!

More Noah-isms In The Spring.

Not much going on here with Noah's diction. His enunciation has become clearer and the older he gets the clearer the language, and words become. I have missed him saying "out of the ordinary" things, and the way he says them is funny as heck, but alas he's speaking like a little grown up.

Inside The Guggenheim Museum!

The past two weekends in April have been dreamy, and this past Saturday was even dreamier with the all the sunshine we had. You'd think that because the weather was too perfect that we'd spend the day outdoors and we did, but for the beginning of the morning we spent it inside the Guggenheim museum. Yessssss! After four years of taking the kids to see Peter and The Wolf we finally went all the way in!

I'm Going To Be A Great Aunt!!!

Perfect happiness is a beautiful sunset,
the giggle of a granchild, the first snowfall.
It's the little things that make the happy moments, not the grand events.
Joy comes in sips, not gulps.
-Sharon Draper

Well, this news is pretty grand for me because later on this month I'm going to be a Great Aunt, and that's a big deal for me! I am thrilled over the moon for my only niece to be expecting, and for her to becoming a momma so close to her 30th birthday! We are so excited for her tiny joy to come!

April, We Are Loving You So Far!

This particular month in this particular year has been, hands down the best! April is totally winning us over this year with the weather and after having temps below zero all winter long (hello January!) spring has finally sprung in our neck of the woods, and with it brought blues skies, sunshine, beautiful colored trees, and flowers, and my kids are literally jumping with joy!

That One Late, Late Night in Dumbo...

If I look extremely tired in these photos it's probably because I was! They were taken a couple of weeks ago in Brooklyn where we spent most of the evening meandering the streets of Brooklyn way up until midnight! Although the shops at the Empire Stores close early the building itself is open until 2am and when we saw this booth we couldn't help ourselves. We stood on the white circle trying to figure out which small black little camera to look into and we had way too much fun. We most definitely have become fanatics of photo booths, and any kind of self picture-taking booth that deals with a hashtag.

General Conference-Spring 2019

As we woke up to get ready to head to the chapel for general conference I was thinking...why does the weather have to be this wonderful! After what seemed to be a long winter we finally had a rain free weekend and 70 degree plus weather, and it felt great. I reaaaaaaallllyyyyy wanted to play hooky, and spend our time outside instead of listening to conference. I know that we could have waited to read them online, or watch it at home on our mac, but we enjoy watching it live at our church.

A Day Out In Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania!

Last Saturday we took a break from going to the city and ventured out to Pennsylvania where there was more open space, fresh air, and a little bit of a mountain top. The weather was close to 75 degrees and after Chelsea's piano recital we tidied up the house and took off to spend day in a small old mining town called Jim Thorpe.

Rumple Buttercup & Matthew Gray Gubler!

When I read the tweet about Matthew Gray Gubler comimg to Jersey for a book signing I immediately cleared my schedule and told the kids that we were going to meet "Dr. Reid." Noah was a bit quiet when I told him the news. I think it was more of a "I have to see him to believe it" sort of look. I don't blame him.

2019 PTF Honors Recital: Chelsea

It would be very remiss of me if I didn't mention how happy I am for my youngest daughter Chelsea for making it into the PTF Honors recital this year. This is an audition that occurs only in central jersey and after trying out for it a couple of weeks ago made it to honors. She played a beautiful piece in which you can listen to and watch here & here. She is a good pianist, and although it's something she may not pursue in the future she's happy to know that she can play and like her sisters, use that big block of wood to play music that helps them escape from the chaos of the world.

Andy Warhol Exhibit At The Whitney.

On the last weekend of March we went to The Whitney to check out the Andy Warhol exhibit. I had been wanting to go since it opened in November, but time, the holidays, a new year, double birthdays, and winter  prevented us from going, but alas we made it just in time before the exhibit closed last week, and it was pretty amazing! Here are a few photos of some of my favorites. Mind you Noah is in a ton of them as he was so interested, and focused on every detail of the picture and wanted to count every single square. You'll see what I mean as you glance through them...

A Little Bit Of Spring On The High Line.

Spring is slowly peaking it's way in and when we ventured out to the city saw a little bit of it on the high line. This place brings out the crazy in Noah with how long the walk is. He will run, stop for a minute to see any art that might be displayed on the way which I don't mind, and walk on the benches which is a pet peeve of mine.
