BYU Museum of Art!
For years I have been wanting to go to the byu museum in Prove but always took it for granted. I have dropped off two kids at college and still never made time to go inside. I had other priorities like visiting friends or attending the temple. I finally got to go this year when Lexie graduated and I just thought it was so cool to have a museum right smack in the middle of campus! The exhibits were amazing! I love Brian Kershisnik's art and this painting called "Nativity" is one of my favorites. This little museum is so inspiring and I am so glad to have seen this enlarged painting in person. The BYU museum quaint, well curated and free!!! I didn't want to take too many pictures but you know me...I did anyway.

Class of 2025- BYU!
There's something about a married couple or couples in general who graduate together. I'm so so happy that this day has come for Lexie and Hyrum. They can now stop studying hard (for now) and get a bit of a break from school. I am also filled with gratitude that we were able to fly out and witness their graduation. She is my first in the family to graduate. Neither my husband or I got degrees from a university so you can see why I'm so so happy for them! I captured a few moments from that day. It was long day but a good one. Being with family was so nice. I wish my mom could have been here but I know she's looking down from heaven seeing these two filled with JOY and shouting "WE DID IT!"

BYU School of Music Presents.....
15 years of violin lessons certainly paid off when Lexie performed with the BYU orchestra for her senior year. She graduates in two weeks and we are so proud of her. I wish we could have been there in person to hear and watch her play but luckily it was streamed live and so we were able to see and zoom in on her. I have missed her playing and man did it feel good hearing her in the orchestra. I have missed my girls music in the home and it's so nice to be able to have heard it even though its online. Oh the nostaglia...if only my kids can play music for me all afternoon long just like they did when they were still living at home. Luckily I have a son at home who plays the guitar and on occasion will play a tune I love!

Happy Cinco De Mayo!
The best part of college for Lexie lately has been being a part of a mariachi band and participating in the fiesta Spanish heritage events held at BYU. She loves folklorico and like her older sister loves dancing. Even more so now that she's in college. I love that this university has events in which our heritage is exhibited. Through music, singing, and dancing it's so much fun. I wish I can be there to see her play, sing, and dance with her mariachi band. Hopefully someday. But for now I get to see her in photos and in the videos that she sends me. So in honor of Cinco De Mayo here are a few photos from this past year where she has met amazing people and has surrounded herself with really great friends.

BYU Bound Part II
"Learning is their journey. Let them navigate. Push them to explore. Watch them discover. Encourage their questions. Allow them to struggle. Support their thinking. Let them fly."

BYU Bound!
Well, this is it. Another daughter of mine is heading off to college, and this time will be living 1900 miles away, and it's okay. It's okay because I know that she is ready, and that this is the place she chose for her future academics, and that she will be in good hands. And just like her older sister who has been away from us for five years now will do many a great things. I always miss them both when we venture out on our regular family trips, but it's nice to see Sierra living an independent life, working hard to live, and it will be nice to know that Lexie will be studying hard to gain the best education.

Lexie Lately- Her Acceptance Into BYU Provo!
As the years have gone by I've kind of shifted to a point where I don't really write too much about my girls. I know that I post, and write a lot about Noah, and our family adventures, but when it comes to personal things such as relationships, and school I don't want to invade their privacy, and so I leave it up to them to post, or write about whatever they want to write about on their own corner of the internet.

A Few Photos From The SOAR Program at BYU!
Seeing these pictures brings back so many memories of Sierra when she went to SOAR five years ago. (For those of you who are unfamiliar with this program you can read this detailed article about it here.) The new friends, the temple, the smiles, and the captions that are written underneath these pictures that I stole from Lexie and her friends Instagram is very nostalgic. I love how this program inspires, and teaches our cultured children to prosper, and grow spiritually as well as preparing them with success in their academics once they are in college.

A SOAR Family.
| Emily & Sierra at BYU campus checking in to SOAR |
It's been a little over two weeks since Sierra came home from Utah & she is constantly being tagged in photos from various friends she met at SOAR on her Facebook. Although I already blogged about her to trip to Utah to attend this program I decided to add just a few more pictures.
Who knows...maybe at one point when she has some free time she can blog about her experiences in her own words.
So for now I'll just leave you with still pictures from the program she attended called-SOAR.
Noheli and Sierra were joined at the hip since day one. They both had a lot in common, and I mean that literally. They are both friends with a mutual friend/missionary who happens to be serving in Colorado.
Any guesses who that may be?
Hint hint...she met him at EFY last summer.
It truly is a small world, and both had an amazing time building their friendship and learning together along with their "SOAR family".
This five day program consisted of having a ropes course on day one, hiking the Y, going to Temple Square, discussed life long learning, service, and on character building. They each brought their talent, and shared something from their culture, prepped for their ACT's and also took the test.
She had the most amazing time with of all her "brown" friends. She loves them all, and hopes to continue to keep in touch with them. What a wonderful opportunity this was for her, and I'm so grateful she experienced this.
These are her friends for life, and this is her SOAR family.
