January Highlights...

For some reason I felt as if January didn't fly by fast enough as I thought it would. Maybe it's because I am longing to have more family time with all my kids particularly Lexie before she leaves for her mission. I think time knows that I don't want it to fly as much because of that. So much has happened during this month and because I haven't blogged on the daily, I would like to combine all the special events and mundane moments that happened this month....

New York moments are our favorite and have become very common in our life. Plenty of friends have asked if we've moved here, and even had a friend from church advise me that we should get an apartment in the city. Of course that's a dream thought, and as much as we wouldn't mind living in the city living an hour away from it is good enough for us.
We hardly ever do the "touristy" things in New York but it had been a long time since I've captured photos with the charging bull on Wall Street. The girls were little when I took a photo of them with it, and capturing a shot with Noah standing next to the bull made his day.
East coast weather was pretty bipolar this month. One weekend it was 65 degrees and then the next day it's like 30 degrees. Crazy I'm telling you! The vessel at Hudson Yards is a beautiful, shiny building. We didn't climb up the steps because we went on a day that felt like 20 degrees but will make up for it in the spring when the wind gusts aren't so cold! And as you can tell from the picture below the weather the following weekend was almost 70 degrees! We were so happy to have been in the city that day when it happened! Every New Yorker was on cloud nine!
Pop up museums in the city are a fave and going to the Museum of Ice Cream and SuperReal was super sweet and super fun! Broadway shows are also a must see and never take them for granted. There are so many new shows that we'd like to see, and some we'd love to watch over again, but are grateful to make it to one a month! Tootsie and Beetlejuice were a hit and absolutely loved them both! So glad Jon and I saw it before it closed on January 6th and taking the kids to see Beetlejuice has been on our list since Halloween!
Having Sierra over from Utah  to celebrate Lexie's special day at the temple was a treat. So happy she was able to make time out of her busy schedule to visit us and also celebrate her sisters birthdays.
Dinner at Mystic Pizza was a must for the girls as well. We always take advantage and will spend the whole day in Connecticut to eat and play! It also snowed for the first time in a long time!
Chinese new year is our favorite time of year in the city and although we didn't make it to chinatown for the festivities we managed to have fun in the rain.
We spent some time in industry city after the rain stopped and discovered the "Big Squish" art installation. It was pretty cool and Noah had fun studying it!
Attending the Philadelphia temple with Lexie was the best! I just love the happy spirit she carries! So happy to have someone to go with during the weekday! At least until it's time for her to depart for her mission.  Three more weeks and she's off!
After writing all this and being that it is the last day in January I have to say that this month was pretty productive and pretty much flew by! When you have events planned, and celebrating two kids with the same birthday time in the winter certainly does pass us by. Looking forward to what February brings and for more joyful moments to be created!
