Can't believe May is here! Time sure does fly when there's a pandemic going on and your kids have been home since mid-March. Praying that our cities will recover so that life can have "life" again. With the weather being absolutely beautiful these days its hard to stay home. Spring is in full swing and we only have a month left of it and then Summahhhhhh! In spite of the virus we make the best of these days. I love my family and have learned so much through this experience. Still am. And although I feel as if I am such a grateful and compassionate person I am still learning and appreciating more and more each day. This pandemic has made me even more generous in all things. Here's to the beautiful month of May and since she arrived in a blink of an eye I'd like to thank her with a few little letters....
Dear May,
What a beautiful month you are. The showers that April brings always make you sunny in every way. And you are bright shining so strong. You are the month that brought my firstborn into the world and the month that I gave my life to know The Lord. Thank you for those special blessings.
Dear flowers that are in bloom particularly the tulips,
Thank you for blooming every year at Holland Ridge. Since we moved here we have gone to frolic and pick in your garden, but because of Corona had to buy a batch through a drive thru. So lucky y'all are still in bloom so that we can brighten someones day with them.
Dear educators of the world,
Thank you for teaching my children for the past 25 years! I have felt the hard work and effort you put in teaching our children by being their home teacher for the past month and half. God bless you!
Dear Corona,
Please, please stop infecting people. Doctors are trying to make a vaccine so that it can cure the ones who have crossed paths with you. Please stop taking them away from their loved ones. I believe we have learned our lesson in washing our hands thoroughly in hopes that none of your relatives infect us again! Thanks for a hard learned lesson, but can you please just go away! Thank you...and me!
Dear Technology,
I loathed you in the beginning but because of Corona have learned to love you even more especially at this time when everything financially and academically is done online. Never thought I would say this but we are grateful for you. Thank you for being my kids sidekick while they're doing their homework and my headache while paying our bills!
Dear Mother's Day coming up,
Thank you for playing a huge role in May. I can already picture the families of every mother appreciating and recognizing them via text, phone calls, snail mail, and drive by celebrations. Especially since we have both been the parent, teacher, and comforter during this time. They sure deserve all the love in the world this month!
Dear Beaches,
Thank you for being there for us when we need a break from the burbs, and the city. Even though it is still a bit nippy to go, we treasure you through old photos, you are literally a breath of fresh air and a blessing to be near me. Can't wait till you open up again!
Dear Memorial Day that falls on the last weekend of May,
You are it. The beginning of Summer. The time to honor those who have passed on. The time to remember. The beginning of what's to be a long three months of summer so that we can bond with our families, to adventure out in a slower pace, but most of all to appreciate of what's to come.
