One of my favorite things to do during the spring is venture out to city center in d.c. and check out any new installations they might have put outside, and it looks like they decided to keep the pink lanterns that they hung up last spring when we first noticed them. They do make the shops outside appealing, and fun to shop (even though we really don't come here for the shopping.) We just love to walk around, and window shop, and get ideas on how to dress without breaking our bank account.
The kids love it here, and we had some fun walking around. The weather was pretty nippy, but I managed to take a few pictures. I feel bad that Chelsea couldn't join us. She hadn't been feeling well the past few days, but because this was the only weekend we could see the cherry blossoms (which I'll post pictures of that in a later post) we took advantage, hopped in our car and drove three hours to venture out to one of our favorite cities. I told her that we would come back when the weather is warmer, and probably hit a museum or two! But for now I leave you with a few photos of us wandering around city center taking selfies saying, "look how pretty those pink lanterns are with the twinkle lights!"

Sure do love these kids, and taking the time to drive three hours to a place we love, and actually getting out of the car to take in the city. Spring time is definitely the perfect time of year to venture out, and do a lot of walking!
