May Has Arrived!

Blossoms are indeed a favorite and feel as if I've been neglecting them in photos. Lately I've just been walking to admire them instead of capturing pictures of every cherry tree in sight. Spring is such a beautiful season and it flies by so fast. There were a few trees in Utah while we were walking around Lexie's neighborhood. The flowers are vibrant but soon they will fall off. I captured a few in Utah and a couple here in our Jersey hood. Noah's allergies were bothering him that day but he was a good sport and he let me take a few photos!

Spring On Stockton St. in Jersey!

This is my old hood where we used to live on Historic Stockton street. I literally lived in that White House where the white blossom tree is at. We still live within walking distance from here and I absolutely love walking down this street, especially when spring arrives. This tree and the magnolia tree are my favorite. I captured them before it becomes petalpalooza! There are some petals already on the ground and because spring is such a short season these petals will probably all be on the ground by the end of this week! So I'm salvaging every moment of spring here in my neck of the woods. I feel that the older I get I appreciate the change of seasons. Cause with each season changing so do we. We choose to be how we want to be. I choose to be kind and bright like these trees and when the petals start to fall I don't allow it to bring me down. It only means that something better is coming. And summer will be here before we know it! Spring...whether you're in New England, NYC, D.C. or Philly is absolutely stunning!

Spring & Chelsea.

Oh how I love spring where I live. So many trees. So many blossoms and I cannot get enough of them lately. Luckily I have a daughter who still likes for me to have her picture taken. Last week after school we passed by an assisted living development and it was surrounded by flower trees. I asked chelsea if I could take some pictures of her with it. She obliged and I snapped away. It didn't matter if there were bees swarming around. I figure, if I don't bother them then they won't bother me. I didn't get stung and I captured these two beauties in all their glory.

A Blossoming Neighborhood!

We are in our third week of spring and the blossoms and magnolias continue to hang on. We've been to a few places in Jersey where they continue to blossom. We have flowering trees in the front of our house and all over our neighborhood. We have gone on walks and Noah has jumped and pulled off magnolias from the hanging branches. I do love our neighborhood walks and now that the weather is getting warmer hope to go on more of them. We don't have a backyard so we venture outside a lot. Although Noah enjoys being outdoors he can also be a homebody at times and on some days I've had to make him go outside. Luckily he's agreeable and listens to me and eventually goes outside with us. He's learning quick that even though he's getting older and his generation today consists of video games and technology that he can't always sit behind the screen. He knows all about balance and limits and when enough is enough. I taught him that. So glad I'm one of those archaic moms who likes to get outside, play boardgames, do sports, go on walks, enjoys to read from a book, writes letters, and still watches dvd's so that he can continue to learn that the world doesn't revolve around technology. Well, it actually does but it doesn't have to revolve us. So, as a mother, I am grateful to be old-school and that my mom taught me how to be creative when I was "bored" and couldn't afford to travel and buy boardgames. Here's to spring and hope that these blooms will last longer than a month!

Happy Earth Day!

Blossoms are our favorite things about spring and these crabapple trees are all over our neighborhood. There are so many ways to celebrate earth day and sure there are things that we can do such as planting, recycling, and cleaning up the trash that people leave behind on the sides of the streets but one of our favorite things we love to do is go for a walk and just look at all that mother earth has given us. And really take it in and appreciate that if it wasn't for the plants, flowers, and green grass we would have no air to breathe. So with all the doom and gloom that this pandemic seems to be bringing we jump for joy, and make the best of earth day this year and replace that with a smile filled with brightness, sunshine and joy! Expressing gratitude for all that mother nature continues to give us. So let us take care of her.

Under The Blossom Trees!

Well, it seems that with the thunderstorm we had the other day, and all the rain we've had so far this week wiped away most of the blossoms from the trees which means summer is on its way. We were lucky to have spotted so many blossom trees throughout this season to shower in them. It's like spring snow without the cold.

Blossoms With Lexie!

Five years ago my oldest daughter graduated from high school, and I can't believe that in one month Lexie will be graduating too! Whaaaaat! My, oh man has time flown! I've realized that time definitely goes by fast when you're busy having fun not only in life, but with your kids as well. I am so excited for Lexie, and she is soooooo ready to graduate, and start college. I'm glad I'll have a whole summer with her before she takes off so we can make more memories with her.

Happy Mother's Day!

As I was walking around the streets of Philadelphia the other day I noticed a bunch of blossoms on the ground. It warmed my heart to see that someone really took the time to spell out three wonderful words with blossom petals-"Happy Mother's Day." Being that it was a perfect day in the city with the sun shining seeing this on the ground for everyone to see brought nothing but joy to my face. I saw mommas with their kids walking past it, and some of them paused to take a moment to take a picture.

On Mothering More Than One Child.

I often wonder how it would be if I only had one daughter, let alone one child, but then I look my girls, and my son, and think to myself...no way. Having three daughters has been a blessing, and it has really helped me distinguish certain things in my life. I love how I look at other moms with one child, and their life seems so easy, and great. But then I look at my life and even though it's not perfect I feel as if i hit the jackpot with these kids. Especially Noah. He is my dreamboat. My miracle baby. My solace. Having him at a later age in life changed my perspective in how i see things. Especially since he was born in South Jersey.

Blossoms Before Church!

Since church for us doesn't begin until 1:45 I decided to snap a few shots of more blossoms before they start peaking, and falling onto the ground. I have become obsessed with spring, and all the beauty that comes with it! Blossoms, and cherry trees, tulips, and wildflowers. Blame it on moving further north, but the blossoms on this part of the county are absolutely unbelievable in color! I'm very fortunate to not get major allergies this time of year like Jon (sorry babe!), but he's such a good sport and comes outside with us anyways.

Spring At The Washington D.C. Temple Grounds.

The day we attended Aiden's baptism we decided to stop by the temple on our way home. We didn't get to go inside the temple this time, but we did visit the visitors center, and as always captured a lot of photos on the temple grounds. I sure hope y'all aren't getting sick of my spring photos, and posts, but spring in D.C. is always worth documenting especially when the tulips, and blossoms are in bloom. Oh, and let's not forget kids who like having their picture taken!

Blossoms In The Garden State!

I don't know how long they're going to last because I forget every year how beautiful and how quickly spring comes to an end, but these blossoms are absolutely dreamy, and for the first time since moving here I have been totally taking advantage of the outdoors to experience spring. These blossoms are everywhere! There's a cherry tree in front of my house, there are blossom trees in front of Noah's school, our church, and they are literally all over my neighborhood, and all over the Princeton area! The garden state truly is a beauty in the spring, and regardless of April being dreary at times because of the rain seeing these blossoms up, and blooming bring nothing but joy. And when the sun is shining makes it even more beautiful, and my heart more grateful!

BLOSSOMS AT THE BROOKLYN BOTANICAL GARDENS.

This past Saturday as a pre-Mothers Day gift we ventured out to New York to see the blossoms at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, and they were absolutely beautiful! This was a last minute trip as our middle daughter had a youth temple trip to D.C. I hate the fact that I'm getting used to my two oldest daughters being away, and super busy, especially when one lives so far away. Lexie is headed down that path, and before I know it she'll be heading off to college too! But for today I enjoyed my time with these two kiddos, and next time we come to New York I'll make sure Lexie is with us.
Everything was pink! I have become obsessed with blossoms lately. I swear I've taken a picture of every single blossom, and magnolia tree all over the Garden State. This particular garden has so many japanese blossoms, and they even have a section where you feel as if you're in Japan. Not that I've been, but this garden is unique in it's own, and is in a comfortable pocket of Brooklyn.

The kids had so much fun walking around, looking at all the pretty flowers. Noah attempted to pick off a blossom from a tree, and handed it to me. That's what you get when you have him sitting on papa's shoulders standing right underneath a tree.
There were moments when the kids were running around, and relaxing on the grass for a moment. There were so many people, and I highly recommend coming on a weekday morning when it's not as packed. Nonetheless we managed to walk the whole garden, and had ourselves a grand time.

^^^We even found an arch where the kids stood and made some funky poses, and funny faces ^^^

It's a good thing I don't mind crowds because like I said it was super packed. Apparently on the first Saturday of the month they have all kinds of events going on all over Prospect Park. Luckily parking is cheap, and that the kids got in free. We will definitely come back on another month perhaps in the summer as there were many flowers that weren't in bloom yet such as the rose garden.
^^^ It was a happy "pink" day for all of us with spring finally showing off her true colors. ^^^

Happy Monday friends!
