Jane's Carousel Grand Opening In Dumbo!
Oh how we've missed riding on carousels particularly the ones in the city. Jane's Carousel and the Seaglass carousel are our favorite ones to go to in the city and after a year of being closed due to the pandemic have both opened up! We went ahead and decided to go on grand opening weekend! The lines weren't too crazy at Jane's but we did stand in line for about half an hour but you can't beat the view of the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges and the price to ride it isn't too bad. So it was worth the wait! For two bucks you can ride it and it's a good timely ride. The kids are 16 and 11.5 years of age and they still love riding on the carousel. I hope those days of them riding on the carousel never end. We ended the day eating ice cream and pizza at our favorite spots in Dumbo. We absolutely love this area. There is always fun things to do and see all year round here.

Seaglass Carousel!
When we venture out to the city we tend to do more than one thing and drive to more places than we should. No wonder we are exhausted when we come home! If we lived in the city I know things would be different and we most likely wouldn't be galavanting all over the city in one day. (Yes we would) LOL! Anyway, the day we went to Riverside park was the day the Seaglass Carousel opened up and you better believe we went. I think Jon was the most excited to ride because he's hardly ever with us when we go to the city. This is definitley one of our favorite carousels in the city to go to and we can ride it all day! So relaxing and the background music is enchanting.

Seaglass Carousel & A Day Out in NYC.
Day four of our spring break was spent in new york city again. I am so grateful that we live so close to a city where we can explore and venture out when time permits, and because Jon, and the kids have had all week off for spring break have taken advantage of the time going to the city as a family! This time we decided to drive to Staten island and take the ferry over to the city, and it was a dream for Noah! He absolutely loves boats, and was so excited to be standing against the railing to see the city. I'm not sure he remembers the first time we took the ferry to Ellis island, but he will definitely remember this ride.

Snippets From September!
There are days when I'd rather put pen to paper and write about my day or post little captions underneath a tiny square photo on my Instagram page rather than sit in front of a computer editing my photos, and write until my eyes or my wrists ache which is why I haven't been blogging as much. However, I did want to document some of our fun adventures during my birthday month. So much happened in September that I neglected this small space on the net but I did capture a lot of moments and posted them on my Instagram because that honestly just seems simpler and easier to do these days.

Seaglass Carousel- A Summer Favorite!
The seagrass carousel is a favorite in the summer and I'm so glad we all made it again this year. It has been a while since we've been here. Noah is getting older and I through he wouldn't want to ride it but he did. He remembers all the times he rode it when he was little. I sure miss those days of riding it with him but he's too big to sit on my lap! LOL! Totally was nostalgic for me. I love this little gem in the city and will continue to come and ride. Because we're never too old to feel like a little kid again and pretend we are under the sea!

Scenes of An Empty NYC In The Midst Of A Pandemic.
Although we don't live in New York I was curious to see how the city has been doing, so for the past month we've been venturing out to see how empty it has been with everyone sheltering in place. And it was surreal. So surreal to see this epic city on pause. To see some of my favorite spots shut down. To not have people hustling and brushing next to me on the sidewalk. I felt so much sorrow and my heart was hurting for this city that has once been known to never sleep. I even documented its emptiness on my TikTok. Yes, I caved and I blame it on the pandemic for having created one!

Downtown Day Out In The City...
Keeping the kids active throughout the summer months is important to me and even though we can find things to do close to home there's something about the city that gives us the energy to live, and never grow weary of the surroundings that this wonderful city has to offer. The kids love it every time I mention going to New York, and when I ask if they'd like to go they do not hesitate to say yes! Especially Noah!
