Ever since Noah was old enough to carve a pumpkin he has taken enormous pride and joy in doing so. As he gets older carving becomes more intricate and serious for him! Jon will help him at times but is learning to do it on his own. He carefully draws the design he wants to carve on paper and then grabs a pencil to draw on the pumpkin. He's a little too meticulous when it comes to carving that perfect pumpkin and wants to makes sure it looks "cool." Which is why he wants to hang on to this one a little bit longer.
Every time we walk on to the steps of our porch Noah carefully inspects his pumpkin to make sure it hasn't been invaded. He'll stop, sits, and stare at it for a minute and then go inside. Noah doesn't want to give up his pumpkin and he certainly isn't ready to chunk it in the garbage yet. We are lucky that our neighboring critters haven't gotten a chunk out of it. Noah worked so hard drawing and carving it that he doesn't want to let it go. He is proud of his craved art work but knows that once 'spidey' gets squishy and mushy that it's time to hit Thursdays trash. I captured a few shots of him treasuring his masterpiece. More photos below...
I give it another week...
