Playing For The Drowsy Chaperone.

Well, it's Lexie's senior year, and it looks like she's following her sisters footsteps when it comes to playing with the band for her high school spring musical. As much as she wanted to be a part of the cast she, and her band director suggested she'd play with the orchestra, and although she's a tad bit nervous because of all the older, more experienced players, she's excited to be playing the piano which in her case is very rare.

As much as I tell her not to be nervous she can't help it because she's playing the piano... not the violin! I blame her nervousness when it comes to performing when she first experienced going to PIMF for two weeks which is a band camp in which she took lessons, and played with musicians from the Philadelphia Orchestra!

Violin is her forte, and loves that instrument. She's been playing it since she was about eight, and because she loves fiddling on that small piece of wood plans on taking one of them to college. Piano is her second favorite, and plays it more as a hobby than anything, but Birch & Mr. Williams have faith in her that she'll do just fine, just as Ms. Rowland had faith in Sierra when she played in the band for Aida

The show she'll be playing for is called The Drowsy Chaperone, and there are three performances this weekend!

It's a  ridiculous funny show, and features some of the most talented students. If you've never heard of it, the synopsis is: The Man in chair, a mousy, agoraphobic Broadway fanatic, seeking to cure his "non-specific sadness", listens to a recording of the fictional 1928 musical comedy, "the drowsy chaperone." As he listens to this rare recording, the characters appear in his dingy apartment to perform the Man's favorite show. Man in chair provides a running commentary throughout the show from the stage, though he is on the audience side of the fourth wall, invisible to the players.

It should be an interesting show, and even though we won't be able to see her playing because the pit is literally under the stage (as it should be) it will be exciting to know that she is there playing with the band!
