Ever since we introduced Chelsea to the Victorian gardens amusement park inside Central park when she was almost 10 we have vowed it to be a tradition for the kids so as long as they don't get too big! And since Chelsea is leaving for girls camp tomorrow for a week we decided to go today!
There were no lines, no rain, just pure sunshine, with a lot of fun in the sun. They rode the rides over, and over again. Sometimes they didn't even get off. They just sat there waiting for other kids to get on so they can swing again and again.
Noah made a little friend and enjoyed the froggie ride. Since it was hot they had fans that sprayed water, and they kept getting a little wet.
The balloon ride, although boring can be relaxing and after riding so many rides that required hanging on it was nice for them to relax and enjoy the ride, and view of the city.
The tea cups are Chelsea's favorite, and even though Noah is a boy had so much fun riding on it.
The monster truck was the most boring ride of all for Chelsea! It's definitely a ride for a toddler, but Noah wanted to ride it anyway, and he did...twice!
This is definitely a happy place for them as they rode on the "happy swing."
The airplane ride is another favorite of Noah's, and he rode it twice times. One with Chelsea, and then by himself. He wanted to pose like a real pilot!
The roller coaster ride is in fact a super, slow paced ride, but Chelsea laughed her way through most of these kiddie rides. She remembers them being bigger when she was little, and now they are too tiny for her. She was such a good sport to ride ALL of the rides with her baby bro who's not quite a baby anymore. .
If I let them they could have been at the park all. day. long! We actually were here for about five hours, and boy was I beat! Noah can be sweating up a storm with sweaty hair, but he didn't care. I wonder where he gets all his energy from, and then I pause and say to myself, "I was the exact same way when i was his age."
They both love the park too much, and always want to stay until dark. Not today though, hence riding the rides until the sun got too hot for them.
But we didn't leave! We walked around, ate hot dogs, and ice cream, bought ice cold bottled water for a buck because our water bottle got empty real quick, and I, as usual captured moments of these two in the city we love.
Such a super fun day, and I'm so glad that this is one summer tradition that we will keep doing at least until Noah says, "I"m not a little kid anymore!"
And how was your Monday?
