Hunting for An Evergreen!
I love these pictures for what they are, and for the sake of memory going to post a bunch of photos of us surrounded by trees because...evergreen and Christmas! Tree picking has been a tradition for us for four years now, and for awhile was debating on buying an articifical pre-lit tree this year. I did, but as soon as we put it up it looked so fake. Even when we puffed out those douglas fir faux branches it still didn't feel...homey. So we stuck with tradition and bought ourselves a real tree!
Who cares about needles falling overtime, and having to constantly vacuum the carpet (sure do miss my hardwood floors!) I love the smell, and the look, and good thing we never forget to water it. It usually lasts us till the new year. We did however haven't came up with a name yet! My kids like to give our tree a name depending on how it looks so we are still deciding!
We love venturing out to different farms, and we live in the perfect place for that! We never go to the same tree farm twice. They don't call Jersey the garden state for nothing especially in our neck of the woods. We went to Lazy Susan tree farms this year to hunt for a tree. We had so much fun walking around enjoying the wide open space, and watching Noah having too much un by running through the evergreens! It was pretty fun venturing around, and seeing plots where they had baby trees growing for the next year!
Jon and Noah were so sweet together. Noah was telling him to get in the pictures with him because he's hardly in any of them! So I managed to capture a few while they were being goofs with each other as well as these...
So after all the picture taking we decided to go to Windsor Tree Farms which is literally down the street. We heard their trees are from Canada, and the fact that Lexie speaks French made her all kinds of happy about the trees coming from Canada. We ended up buying a tree there instead! Cheers to finally getting a tree, and for the holiday season to continue on!
And because Sierra isn't here to spend the holidays with us here is a flashback post of when she was with us when we started this tradition!
Happy weekend folks!
