Hey December! We are so excited for this time of year. Time for day trips to the city to see all the decorations on fifth avenue, and all around the city. I swear they never get old. Time to finally go ice skating at Rockefeller center. We are so excited for all our holiday adventures, and for the sleep that I'll hopefully get in between. Traditions are important in our family, and we try to keep with them for as long as we can!
To start off the Christmas season we will go to the Macy's Thanksgiving parade. That just really gets us in the Christmas spirit! Peter and the Wolf is a highlight for Noah. He absolutely loves that show, and this will be the first time for the girls to watch it. It is a family favorite of ours! Same with driving to Brooklyn to see the Dyker lights. Last year we ventured out and walked a ton of blocks to see all the lights. So magically amazing! Seeing Santa whether it's at The Plaza inside Macy's (which you now need a reservation for), or ABC carpet and home (which is my favorite!) is a must especially for me! You're never too old to see Santa right? I didn't have many Christmas's growing up so doing so many fun things with my kids until they are teens makes me super happy! Having some frozen chocolate at Serendipity is also a must! I love how they decorate that place during Christmas. The Christmas spectacular at Radio city is also something I hope to do this year. We have yet to see it, and I think it's time! There's also beautiful decorated trees all over the city such as Bryant park, Washington square park, Madison square park, and Lincoln square. There also beautiful trees inside the met museum. And who can forget the tree at Rockefeller center!
There aren't that many weekends in December before Christmas so we try to balance our schedule without overwhelming ourselves, and do our favorite things we love the most. We will also be volunteering at a soup kitchen in the bronx next week, and we are so excited to be doing this as a family. It's something I've always wanted to do as a child, but never did. So happy that Noah will be there to help us out! I love that we live close to this crazy, and magical city so that we can experience all that it brings.
Aside from all the fun, and worldly things to do, and see in the city it's also time to Light The World. Noah has already donated a toy, and he is excited to keep it going for the next 24 days! If you want to find out more about it watch the video on my sidebar!
Hope this holiday season is merry and bright for y'all!
