Class Of 2023!

Here we are at the end of June and I don't even know how we got here so fast. My youngest daughter graduated from high school last week and in all honesty I am a bit melancholy. However, I am happy that she is done with high school and ready to move on to the next step but boy did she have one hell of a hard time going through it all. She stood tall and endured all that Covid threw at her. She pressed on and tried hard to push herself to do well. And that's all we wanted. For her to do her best and graduate happy. And she did. Nothing else mattered. So grateful for this moment and for all our family who flew down from out west to celebrate this milestone with her. It was a wonderful week filled with love and lots of laughter! Especially when you have cascarones to celebrate with!

Happy Father's Day!

28.5 years of being dad and he truly is one of the very best. He's the kind that will calm you down when you're in a drastic situation. He is the perfect one to talk to when one of your kids is having a bad day and I mean a really bad day. He will put your mind at ease with his words and with the things he tells you. When he teaches kids at church he gets them interested in what he is talking about and doesn't bore them with the same repetitious rhetoric. He's the first one his job will call upon to help out because he's patient, mature and reliable. He's the one person who never gives up on anything or anyone. And how do I know this you might be ask? Because he never gave up on me! So grateful for this one and for the unconditional love he has for people but especially our children. Happy fathers day to one of the best around and hope that whoever reads this had a fabulous dads day as well!

Chelsea Live From Carnegie Hall!

This past weekend was a wild ride with Chelsea perfuming at Carnegie Hall on Father's Day. She truly is a champ in keeping this whole month together with endless practices and last minute assignments to turn in. Word to the wise- do not procrastinate! All in all she's pretty much done and just waiting for graduation in two days! She did wonderful at Carnegie and everyone sang so beautifully. The orchestra was phenomenal and all the songs they played are something that belong on a score in a movie soundtrack! The composers were brilliant and all the singers were exquisite. Oh how in love I am with opera and all things classical! Let's not forget jazz, but that's a whole other concert!

At The Tail End of Spring....

Here we are at the tail end of spring and soon summer will be here. As I was cleaning up my phone and  scrolling through old photos I realized these spring pics never made it to the blog. I really have to be motivated to hop on here to load and edit photos but lately they have all been making it to the gram. I know eventually blogging will become obsolete for me but as much as I want to give up I somehow find myself back on this computer typing my fingers away until my wrists and back start hurting. I love to write but I feel that my aching body permits me to do that these days. That's why I love Instagram, it's so easy to do. You post photos with a caption and....voila! You're done! IG is like a mini blog/journal for me and since 90% of my friends and family don't write letters anymore I figure this is the easiest way they can "keep up" with me. Social media, it truly is the way of the world these days! This blog has meant so much to me throughout the years and as I look back into the archives it blows my mind how diligent I was in writing on here. And I mean really writing. Not just writing boring stuff (at least I hope not) but raw stuff. Maybe someday my blog will go back to the old school days but for now this is it. Little snippets of my life as my kids not only grow older, but get taller than me too!

Chelsea's School Disney Trip!

The older my kids get the less I will write about them on here but for those who do keep up I wanted to let you know that Chelsea did make it to Disney! Thanks to her little fundraiser from her school and to those who purchased from her she was able to meet her goal and ended up going! So we thank you thank you from the bottom of our hearts in helping her reach her goal! She had so much fun with her friends and smiled the whole way through the park. I've never been to Disney world but I have been to DisneyLand. It's been almost 25 years since I last stepped foot in Disneyland and maybe one of these days I'll go again! I'm just so glad that Chelsea was able to go with her peers and sing with her choir which was the main purpose for going! She sent me a lot of photos but I'm only sharing a few because...privacy!

TILT Museum At American Dream Mall!

Noah and I decided to venture out to the American Dream Mall for the first time and I have to say that it was a bit overwhelming. I mean, I grew up hanging out at malls but they were small malls. The American Dream mall in East Rutherford literally has every store under the sun. The 5 dollar parking is worth it if you're there all day. We heard about the Tilt museum and so we decided to check it out! We had so much fun with all these optical illusions done by artist Tracey Lee such as pretending to be a dragon slayer, floating on a hot dog amidst the NYC skyline, climbing the statue of liberty, and pretending to be a DJ to name a few. It was worth the 15 bucks to see these crazy and deceiving illusions!

Graduation Announcements!

Chelsea's graduation announcements are here and I was so excited to address them to those who love my kid and mean a lot to me as well. Graduation is getting close and we are so thrilled for her! So close family and friends- keep on the lookout for some good mail this week!

Senior Drama Banquet Night!

June is going to be filled with so many achievements for Chelsea. We had her senior drama banquet last month and was recognized for being a part of the theatre club for the past two years. It would have been four but dang that Covid for canceling drama productions! It was a nice evening for her to be recognized among her fellow peers and the speeches and treats she was given by certain members of the drama club were so sweet. I am one proud mama!

Chelsea's Senior Prom!

Time sure did fly by with this one. Last weekend was my baby girls senior prom and even though she went STAG had a great time. I told her that it's better to go alone than with a lousy date that hardly paid any attention to you that night (a.k.a. me!) LOL!

She looked stunning and was all smiles among her friends. She came home around 5am the next morning wired but tired and then slept until 3pm only to wake up that she had to babysit in one hour! What a gal!

Meet & Greet With Andrew McCarthy!

June was off to a great start! Meeting Andrew McCarthy was pretty surreal and he truly is just as sweet as he was in his movies. I love his writing and he was at Books and Greetings promoting his newest book "Walking With Sam." It's a story about walking Spain's Camino de Santiago with his oldest son Sam. So impressed by it and it you follow his Instagram he documented each day with his son. His posts were both humbling, and sometimes funny! What a guy! Such a great dad to do this with his son and I bet the bonding between them was amazing! Exhausting, but amazing! Go get his book now because this is by far, my favorite book he's written. And it's probably because my ancestors are from Spain!
