Scenes From Chelsea's 17th Birthday!

Couldn't say goodbye to January without sharing some "cake" photos from Chelsea's 17th birthday. Although we celebrated her special day at Serendipity in NYC what matters the most is the wish that she makes and whatever she wished for I hope it comes true. Here's hoping that she has one heck of a year and that all her dreams come true! Now for some photos from one of our favorite places to celebrate in NYC. Can never get enough of that frozen hot chocolate!

Normandy Beach In The Winter Time.

The beach in the winter time is the absolute best especially when you're with your family. I'd rather venture outside than go to the movies where you know the entire universe is going to be there on Christmas Day. The beach is safer and much prettier! LOL! These photos were taken last year on Christmas Day and they are my favorite. I love the bond between the kids and their dad and just spending time with them is the best remedy for when I'm feeling the winter blues. Christmas Day last year was sunny and the temperature was a perfect 50 degrees! We hung out at Normandy Beach for about an hour and then had our little Christmas dinner. I hope these small and simple traditions never end. The Jersey shore is the best and I hope that the weather on future christmases will be like this. Maybe with a bit of snow!

First Snow Fall Of 2022!!

Last Friday we had a snow day in which I was extremely grateful for! The kids don't mind school and all but in all honesty they can really use break. Especially with all the covid cases that their schools have been having. I am surprised they didn't go virtual like all the other school districts in our area. Well, if this keeps up I'm sure sooner or later we are going to go virtual and guess what...this week we were!

Here's hoping that this will help cases go down for the sake of our children so that they can return back to school and do better academically! And so that parents can go to work too! Times are hard enough as it is and I know it is tough for those who work full time and don't have time off to take time off!

Sending positive thoughts, this sweet little reel, and a few photos from our snow day. The first snow is always the prettiest and the cleanest. We went to the outskirts of Jersey to have "snow fun" and in all honesty...it was better than sledding. It was a beautiful simple and refreshing day in nature surrounded by fresh snow!

Birthday Girls.

Five years apart. Twins at heart.

Wish I can have my two youngest daughters celebrate their birthdays together but I’m excited to celebrate Chelsea’s 17th year with her today.
And to Lexie, I’m happy you have friends and family to celebrate your 22nd birthday with you in Utah today!
Happy, happy birthday girls & keep reaching for the stars!

Lexie Lately in 2022....

“One of the best things about a church mission is not only sharing the gospel and seeing people’s lives change, but the relationships you develop with the people and the friendships you create with fellow missionaries.” -Lexie

Since Lexie doesn’t share too much online she gave me the ok to post a bit about the beginning of her 2022.

The first week back in Utah was super busy for her. She flew back on New Year’s Eve and had a whole weekend to move into her apartment. Started school that Monday. Was part of a wedding party and a bridesmaid for one of her missionary companions that same week. A lot of crazy firsts but she loves her classes, her new ward, her new place (she has a room of her own) and rooming with one of her old missionary companions, but most of all…she has much more appreciation for her religion classes, and the fact that she has some of her old mission peeps attending BYU is the best!

Snow People In The Meatpacking District!

I feel as if I neglect the meat packing district especially during the holidays but this past Christmas they added snow people and an art installation created by Theresa Rivera. There is so much to see and do over the holidays that sometimes I come after the first of the year to check out some of the holiday attractions that I missed. This one was so, so fun and again Noah and his "noah-isms" are so dang funny.

Still Christmas-y And Twinkling At Hudson Yards.

Even though it's a new year NYC is still twinkling at Hudson yards with their holiday decor inside the shopping mall as well as outside with these cute little trees. Noah constantly is reminded of the Hobbit or Lord of the rings every time we see a bundle of trees. He has such an active imagination and wish that I still had that resilience and ability to daydream or just "pretend" that I'm somewhere else where life seems easier but then I stop and look around and am a pretty happy camper as to where I'm living my life.

My Wish For 2022...

The best part of getting older is knowing your worth and identity. Especially at the age of 50. Embracing it and loving every thing about it. Grey hairs and all! Picking back up the pieces of ourselves that we left behind that helped us find our way through our journey in this life. It’s never ending....

Walking Into 2022 Like...

Happy 2022 from the big apple!

As you can see I am welcoming the new year on the 10th of January and Here’s hoping the first week of the new year had good vibes only. I personally want to focus more on my family in real time and in person than being online. Even though I feel I don't blog or post as much I still want to document the good things and eventually make my blog into some kind of memoir before I die! I want my kids to know that I always thought and wrote about them and our small adventures. The new year is definitely going to bring a lot of change to many people especially with all that's going on in the world. I really want to focus on the positive and just be happy and chill no matter what the world brings and where life takes us. So happy new year to you! And to all that continue to hop on here every now and then...thank you for reading. Good vibes only this year y'all! xo
