Spring & Chelsea.

Oh how I love spring where I live. So many trees. So many blossoms and I cannot get enough of them lately. Luckily I have a daughter who still likes for me to have her picture taken. Last week after school we passed by an assisted living development and it was surrounded by flower trees. I asked chelsea if I could take some pictures of her with it. She obliged and I snapped away. It didn't matter if there were bees swarming around. I figure, if I don't bother them then they won't bother me. I didn't get stung and I captured these two beauties in all their glory.

Tulip Time!

It's been two years since we went tulip picking and when I saw all the posts on social media being posted about tulips knew I had to take the kids and go! We started this tradition five years ago when we moved to central jersey and being that we are less than 20 minutes away from Holland Ridge Farms just had to go. Luckily spring break is still ongoing and so the kids didn't miss school nor did we have to rush through the field to pick. In all honesty I come here mostly for photos and only end up buying like five tulips at a dollar a stem (best deal) but just the feeling of walking through the fields trying to find that perfect tulip gives off so much energy. It definitely gives off that "spring is definitely here" vibe and we are here for it! The weather was perfect. The crowds were tolerable and there was enough social distancing to go around. The tulips are vibrant and better looking this year. Such a beautiful time of year to go tulip picking and I suggest to go now because I have a feeling they will only be around for another week or so!

Now for some photos!

A Jersey Spring!

In my opinion Spring here in the northeast has been a little off this year. There are some trees that are in bloom but for some reason it hasn't been as vibrant as it has been in past years. I blame that on climate change. Nonetheless we have trees in our neighborhood that have blossomed with cherry blossoms and so last week I captured a few photos of Chelsea underneath one. I love the color pink in the spring. I love how it stands out and how renewing it is for these trees that have been sleeping for months and are now waking up and showing off their fresh blooms. Not only is it renewing for them, but for me too. Love spring and all the hope that comes with it by taking in the newness of this season!

Our Easter Sunday!!

To be honest...as I get older making cascarones has become tiresome even for the kids. I love making them but in all honesty I'm most likely going to start buying them. Maybe, depending on my mood I will make a few but now that the kids are older they would rather crack them on peoples heads than make them. LOL! It was so much easier and funner to make when they were little. Oh how I loved watching these two fill them up with confetti and then decorate them. Those were the days. Now, I think I'll just buy them. Glad I had quite a few heads to crack this year because we had the missionaries from our church over for easter dinner. They had never heard of cascarones and were a little nervous when I said that the kids had a "surprise" for them.

The ADDAMS FAMILY High School Musical!

Well, March slipped right through my fingers and realized that I never documented Chelsea's musical. Time certainly slips away from my arthritic fingers and there are days when I just don't want to blog as much. Instagram is literally my main source of social media these days but I still want to write our history on here. You know, just in case I ever make my blog into a book for my kids. Moments like this are to be remembered especially when our children work extra hard in being a par to something they love.

Macy's Flower Show -2022!

The Macy's flower show in NYC this year was absolutely stunning. The colors were vibrant and there were so many flowers! Every year the show is unique and different and although the weather hasn't felt like spring lately, I am thankful for Macy's to put on a flower show that reminds us that spring is in the air! Too bad the show is only on display for two weeks so this past weekend was the final time to see it. Noah and I had so much fun walking through Macy's and of course captured some moments of him walking around. There was even someone taking photos outside the store for free! Noah and I couldn't resist and so this photographer (wish I got his name) captured some really nice photos of us. The rest were taken by me or Jon with our smartphones. Still...I prefer pictures from a Digital point and shoot camera or film camera over a smartphone any day! Now for some photos...

The Little Prince On Broadway!

Who knew that one of my favorite classic books would be made into a broadway show. Noah and I had a mommy and son date to go to the city to see The Little Prince at the Broadway theatre. Noah had no idea what to expect as he's never read the book. After the show was over, his reaction was ,"well, that was different." He did however, enjoy the aerial artist and acrobatics as he loves to do flips at home, but this musical was absolutely beautiful and brilliantly done. I loved that some of the narration was occasionally in French with English subtitles. One of my favorite parts was when the pilot began to sing in French. Such a wonderful show for those who have little ones that can't sit for no more than two hours. The Little Prince will indeed leave you feeling joyful and happy knowing that life can indeed be beautiful and adventurous!

Happy April - Happy Spring, Happy Everything!

Weather in April has been bipolar lately. We have had rainy cold weather for a week and then for one day it was 75 degrees. I know that April showers bring May flowers but I would actually like the weather to feel like spring instead of winter! Regardless of the weather I try to make it a good day. It's funny how we go out on rainy, overcast days but I realized that those are the days that are perfect for outdoor pictures. Industry city has a beautify floral installation right now and we went earlier this month and it's absolutely gorgeous! So colorful and with Easter approaching makes it a perfect backdrop for photos. Even for Mother's day next month! We are expecting warmer temps this weekend so let's hope the forecast isn't teasing us about all that sunshine next week! Happy Spring!
