Not All Immigrants Are Criminal!

So far the month of June has been an emotional one. First with my dear friend passing away and now with all the ICE raids going on in LA and spreading around the whole country. Because of this chaos I haven’t felt the need to post or share anything adventurous so instead I’ve been sharing the passion that I have for my heritage and POC and for what’s happening in the world on my Instagram stories in hopes that those who think the opposite, will have some compassion instead and try to understand why this is wrong. We all have our different views and opinions, but there are so many families who do not deserve this. Who work hard to provide for them. Who are being ripped apart from their children. They are hurting right now and all I can think about are my kids who are both Mexican-American and their future and how their lives are going to be as they get older. I count my blessings that they are American citizen but that doesn't mean they're safe.

I just pray that this country will get better and somehow heal from this madness and just STOP! That people in Congress will just….I don’t know. I just…sometimes…ugggh, I don’t even have the words.

But just know that as a Mexican-American and having a father who was undocumented and not a criminal did his best to live before he passed away. Only people who are undocumented know how long the process is to become legal. There’s a lot of red tape involved and it can take months even years before they get their papers. Some come on a visa and for whatever reason it expired and have to wait months or even years to get another one. Unless you've been in their shoes then you have no room to talk. Sure your allowed to have an opinion but for those who will never understand just try to picture yourself in their situation. Not all immigrants are criminal.

I am a product of an immigrant and even though my father didn't raise me I know that he was a hardworking man and did his best to live. He was from Mexico and passed away too young in age. He was 52 and never became documented. For whatever reason he couldn't I'm sure it was a lot of red tape. I know he was always moving around and trying to figure things out but at the end he died in his city in Mexico.

So I care A LOT, and I have feelings for all those who have come to this country to live the American dream. Where every past president has welcomed everyone from all places with open arms. And those that do and have jobs and pay their taxes do not deserve to be treated the way they have been treated. It's inhumane and I hope it stops sooner than later!
