Strawberry Picking!

Strawberry picking has been such a fun experience with kids and no matter how old they get I don't think they'll ever outgrow it. Picking season is our favorite and once the sun shines bright with temps in the 80's with no humidity makes the perfect time to go to a farm and go picking! It's a tradition that keeps on going! We tend to go to different farms to pick, and this was the first time picking strawberries at Alstede farms.

It is always bittersweet watching two out of my four kids go picking with us. I look back at this post from four years ago, and can't believe how big these two have gotten. They always get excited when we go to the orchard to pick fresh fruit, and strawberries are one of their favorites. Sadly it's not Noah's anymore. I mean, he doesn't mind picking but strawberries have become a thing of the past for him. He's not too crazy about them anymore. It's weird because when he was little he totally would chow down on them as he would pick them and now he's like, "do we have enough already?" and, "is this red enough?" Jon was with him most of the time, and reminded him which strawberries are ready to be picked.
The first 15 minutes he did fine but I think the heat got to him. He forgot to wear a hat. You'd think I'd have it together being a momma around the block four times and how important it is for us to wear a hat especially when the temps are warm, but luckily we all worked hard at picking as a team and were done within an hour. Noah rested under a tree while we finished up. Of course, taking numerous photos didn't help but at the end of the day we all left happy, and the truck ride on the way back was relaxing for all of us.
Especially for this little dude!
And now let me indulge you with a few more photos before Noah got a little bit of a heat stroke!
