A Cranberry Harvest At A.D. Makepeace Company.

This past weekend, we drove to Massachusetts to witness some cranberry harvesting in action! It's a beautiful time of the year to do this! We went to the A.D. Makepeace company which is the oldest cranberry grower in the country and have been around for over 160 years! I have been wanting to see this for years and was so bummed to find out that last year was the final year of having the cranberry festival which also means not going inside the bog. Bummer! Luckily they still do the tours, and we still had a grand time learning all about how they harvest the berries. And it was very interesting!

They do tours so if you are interested you can go online to check out when they do them. They have a cute little gift shop where they sell everything cranberry!!
The tour guide was amazing and he was on point about talking about the history of the farm and how they harvest and pick these berries very carefully. Making everything from cranberry juice to craisins and even chocolate bars! It was definitely an educational lesson and the kids had fun just being around it.
The color of the cranberry bogs are absolutely beautiful. There are homes located near the bogs and I can only imagine living out here only to look out my window during autumn. It sure was fun to see the farmers out on their rig gathering up the berries. Noah was tempted to ask if he could pleeeeeease on some coveralls and get a closer look.
If you're interested in a tours you can go online to check out when they do them. They also have a cute little gift shop where they sell everything cranberry!! You even get a little gift as you exit!
This was as close as we got to the bogs and it this was one of the best family day trips ever! Going to the bog is a great start for the holidays!
