Lexie Lately: Home From The MTC For A Two Week Quarantine.

I knew sooner or later that Lexie was either going to come home to be quarantined for awhile or go straight to the mission field once it was announced that all U.S. citizens must leave the country. So when Lexie phoned me this past Sunday to let me know what was happening and how quickly she was leaving was excited, confused and sad for her at the same time. Excited because after four weeks of being away on her mission I was going to see her again, confused because I wondered why she was coming back to Jersey where there are more cases of covid19 here than in Mexico City or Arizona, and sad for her because she was truly going to miss learning with her mission peeps whom she grew to love at the MTC. I could literally hear the tears over the phone as she was sharing her beautiful testimony of her love for God, and friendship.

Having her home has been a blessing and her sibs are happy to have her. She will use her time at home to complete her training virtually with her district and fellow missionaries. This truly is the time to reexamine ourselves and count our blessings for our families and for the things that matter most. I see the appreciation on Lexie's face and hear it in her tone on how much she loves the gospel and how everything she learned at the MTC was for her. I can tell that she is ready to serve, and no matter how long she serves, whether it be a the whole 18 months or 15 months (that's if her time in the field gets shortened) it will all be worth it!
