Visiting The Priesthood Restoration Site '19.

Church historical sites are among our favorites places to visit especially during the summer time. We live in an area where we are close to so many. It has been four years since we last visited the Priesthood Restoration Site, and going the second time around helped me to really listen clearly about all that happened here with restoring the gospel. I know that with my kids being a bit older helps them to appreciate the gospel more fully, and to really appreciate it.

I won't go into much detail as I blogged about it before here, but I will say that constantly going to church sites and really being in the moment while paying attention to what is being said will strengthen our testimonies, rejuvenate our spirit, and give us the hope knowing that even through our most challenging times, we can overcome them with hope and faith!
We had the nicest senior sister missionary take us on the tour of Emma & Joseph's cute little house (pictured above), as well as her parents home (Hale house pictured below). I personally prefer Emma's house. Being that it is small and simple is what I like.
Noah was mesmerized by this gun mounted on the wall, and all the surroundings inside the Hale house. He actually listened to the tour and asked questions this time! He was six the last time we came here so coming again has it's benefits. Especially as the kids get older!
And a few more photos walking along the path between Emma and her parent's home.

Noah stopped and found some dandelions and was a sweetheart and gave one to Chelsea. He figured it's about time to give one to Chelsea since he's always thinking of me and Lexie first!

I loved hearing the stories of how the plates were brought about, and what Joseph went through to have them finally finished and restored!! Wow!! I can't even imagine being in his shoes trying to do that hard thing, and to be guided by God is absolutely amazing.

After touring the site we drove to the Susquehanna river and reflected on the historical moments that happened here with Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery. It's such a beautiful spot, and the feeling here was so peaceful.
My boys also had fun skipping rocks! It's rare that these two have a daddy/date night, and so we let them do their thing with skipping rocks!
That hair though! Don't think he wants to cut it anytime soon! (neither do I!)

Since no one was around to take our picture we took a selife.
And then a nice family from California took this picture!
And a few more pictures for good measure!
Again with that hair!

This church site is absolutely beautiful, and meaningful, and would come here again and again. We will definitely come here again when Noah turns 12. There is so much to relearn and reminders are good for us to remember why we became members of this church.
