Peak Foliage in Central Park!

Two weekends ago we went to Central Park cause it was peak foliage and it was stunning! I was really impressed with the fall foliage. We have had summer all month of October and with no rain I feel that the leaves are already drying out. They are falling off now but I am so glad we were able to see autumn in New York. It never gets old and we just love coming here when peak hits. I captured a few photos on the lapse app as well as my own. So remind yourself that these scenes from fall in Central Park are a reminder to you to put it on your bucket list and come experience it for yourself. It is gorgeous! And let's not get into the halloween decorations that new Yorker put out! Absolutely perfect!

Fall In The Hudson Valley.

It's peak foliage right now in the Hudson Valley and each year we go to Sleepy Hollow to check out all the sights. We didn't do the whole "touristy" thing because we've gone so many times and it's a good thing because it was so crowded. I swear every year this area gets busier and busier with crowds. I know putting this spot on social media doesn't help. When some big influencer posts about a certain place everyone just has to go there. We've been coming here since Instagram was even a thing and now that I'm getting older it kind of bothers me that these quaint little towns are becoming so popular. Don't get me wrong I love people but not when it's super crowded! We love sleepy hollow and we will still come here but not during halloween season!

Appreciating Autumn In The Garden State.

Lately I have been really appreciating the beauty of Fall in my new hood. I feel that since turning 50 I don't want to take anything for granted. Not my friends. Not my family. Not The Lord. Not my neighbors. Not mother nature. Not the place that I live. We have been so blessed to live where we live and to have the neighbors we have. To have a couple of friends at church we can rely on, and to have a loving God who is there for us to show off his beautiful creations that he has done along with mother nature! And with that Lexie and I have been going on walks in the morning and just the other day picked up Noah after a half day of school to see the carpet of leaves in our town as well as running errands where we stumbled upon a park where the fall foliage was absolutely vibrant! I captured a few photos of my boy, and he is soooooo dang happy to be November baby and that he was born in one of the most colorful months of the year. New Jersey is no New York but in the fall...she's pretty dreamy. Just take a gander.....

After The Autumn Rain...

Fall has been so beautiful this year and I'm so glad that it lasted as long it did. We sure did need some color this year and Mother Nature did good in bringing color into our neck of the woods. Next to summer, Fall is my favorite and the fact that I have a November baby is a plus! I love that Noah and I both share autumn with our birthdays and that we make the best of this season. After the rain last week we went to a nearby park where everything was golden. The ground looked like a carpet of leaves. It was glorious and beautiful and I captured a few photos of Noah walking and running all around the park. It was a nice time for him to be able to get out of the house after a long week of zoom school to roam around free. And he really needed to get out!

Hello November!

HAPPY NOVEMBER from the GARDEN STATE! Leaves are quickly falling off the trees but there is still some color left thanks to all the rain we had last week. I took a few pictures before and after Halloween, and so far the leaves are still colorful and look like a big fluffy carpet. I doubt the colors will stay like this until Thanksgiving but one can hope and dream right! So thankful for November. I absolutely love this time of year when we can reflect on all the things that we are thankful for!

A Fall Morning Walk With Noah.

The sunshine continues to hang on into our neck of the woods, and with the little bit of rain we had yesterday it's beginning to feel more like fall. If we're lucky maybe autumn will be like it was two years ago in November! The leaves are becoming more vibrant, and colorful, and the air is much cooler. I really love fall, and because we haven't had much of it since September 21 hope it lasts a while longer, at least until thanksgiving.

My November Days.

My days lately without any kids during the day have consisted of long walks, and drives to unknown territory. When I lived in South Jersey I explored as much as I could in that area, and now that i'm in Central jersey I can't help but to explore some more. October and November have been the months of exploring, and I couldn't have picked a better season to venture outdoors. Fall here has been exquisite lately, and my heart is smitten.

If Only Fall Could Last A Little Longer.

In spite of the rain we've had for the past couple of days the fall weather is hanging on for dear life. I love how autumn looks after the rain. The leaves are wet, and the colors are vibrant as ever. Since Noah has school at noon I've been taking advantage of walking through our neighborhood, and even driving to nearby walking trials where I can find some pretty fall foliage to capture. Everywhere you go, and drive we see it. So beautiful in color, and it just makes Jersey look so beautiful. I took advantage and took a few photos of Noah rustling in the leaves, and playing with tree branches. He was trying to make the leaves from this branch fall off, but to no avail.

A few more shots of Noah because I can't get enough of his cute face as well as the beauty in the nature of fall.
I continued to keep snapping until my head started to throb. Yes...I ended up catching a head cold with a bad sinus infection when we got home. This weather doesn't help either. I mean one day it's like 70 degrees, and then the next day it's down to 50. That's definitely how people get sick, but I try not to let that affect me. As mothers we tend to ignore the symptoms, and not take care of our bodies, but for once I listened to my body, and rested. Once I took Noah to school, I had about three hours to myself, and laid down on the couch with herbal tea on one hand, and a blanket on the other. I did get some shut eye, but it's still kind of hard to completely fall into a deep sleep in the middle of the day when you know that 3 o'clock is going to come quick, and you have to get the kids at the bus stop.

Oh, the beauty of fall. If only it could last a little longer, but it's inevitable. We live in a part of the country where seasons change where the fall season will slowly fade into winter. And we are a different person again growing and learning new things. I love it, and if the whole month of November can stay like this I'd be one happy camper.
This day went by so fast, and today, in honor of Veteran's day we'd like to extend our gratitude to those who served our country. I think of my brother who served for a few years, and how much he loved it, and continues to love this country of ours. So thankful for their courage, and strength in continuing to endure to fight for our freedoms.

Noah wanted to wear his american flag shirt so he ended up switching shirts. I don't think it helps having three sisters who love clothes, and a mom who loves to dress him up. He's beginning to learn that it's wise to have an extra shirt on hand, you know, just in case. I got in the habit of doing that when he was baby always getting dirty. That's boys for ya! Anyway, he meant to do a peace sign, but i really think he wanted to do the star wars sign (he hasn't mastered that yet), but ended up with a wave which looks as if he's telling the whole world he's five, because of holding five fingers (he's six by the way.) I'm sure you get the gist of this photo basically waving hello to the camera and hoping everyone has a nice veteran's day! Then again i told him to wave also!
And another close up for good measure!

Happy Veteran's Day!
