A Day Out In Midtown!

Living close to the city has its advantages, and I'm so grateful for the stamina that I have to be able to take the kids out for a day in the city. Christmas is definitely the time to take advantage and see all the magic that wafts over the city with their lights, and Christmas trees on display that make this entire city sparkle.

Since winter break doesn't start until Thursday I thought it would be fun if they played hookey for a day. After all, you're only a kid once, and as long as they are doing well in school and rarely miss days when school starts in the fall, missing a day or two, or three isn't so bad especially during the holidays! We walked all over midtown, and stumbled upon places that were too beautiful not to photograph.

I surprised them with tickets to see the Christmas spectacular with the rockettes and they absolutely loved the show! This was our first time seeing them, and I'm just mad at myself for not having seen them until now! Their show was spectacular, and we have already decided to make it a tradition to see them every Christmas!
Before the show we stopped by The Smile for breakfast, and it was is sooooo good. Their favorite part of coming to the city is the fact that they know we are going to eat somewhere delicious!
This spider-man mural was just down the street. Noah is super obsessed with all things Spiderman, and after watching the movie spider verse  is determined to be the next Spiderman! Love this kid!
I snapped a few more photos of the city. Chelsea and Noah always say that we should just move here already. That would be nice! There is so much to do, and see and long for more which is why we come as much as we can! I LOVE that they LOVE this city as much as I do!
Before heading home we had dinner at Burger Joint. We were lucky to have actually eaten inside for once! Their burgers, and fries are simply delicious, and seriously wish they would franchise and open one up close to me!
It truly was another great day in the city with half of my family. Looking forward to Lexie's arrival tomorrow. We will be making more trips to the city with her, and she's so excited! I only wish Sierra was coming home too, but such is the life of a girl who works hard at her job!
