Our Last Hurrah At the D.C. Temple...At Least For Two Years!

This sweet photo was taken early last fall before Noah's baptism, and because of the beauty that surrounds the temple with the mums and all am using this photo for the beginning of this post, and just look at Noah's face! 100 percent laughter & cuteness! Plus it never made it to the blog until now. Yay!

Time sure is flying past us real quick because in two weeks this beautiful temple will be closing for two years for renovations. The Washington DC temple truly holds a special place in my heart because this is the only temple in which I frequented more in my life! For eight years it was my temple, and to be honest it always will be. No matter the distance we will manage to find a day and drive the three hours it takes to go there. Sure we have other temples super close to us, but on this rainy day we dedicated ourselves to serving in the House of The Lord in good 'ol Maryland!
We are so fortunate to have more temples in the east to attend to while this one is closed, and we look forward to the open house once the Washington DC temple is done. It'll be another temple celebration in which Noah will have the opportunity to experience again. He so enjoyed going to the open house in Philadelphia and wearing those white slippers was his favorite! He sure is going to remember these moments, and what a lucky little boy he is.
In spite of the rain it was a happy day. I seriously never want to leave when we go to the temple. Just being in the area of a temple brings such joy, and strength to my well-being. I love the long drives we have when we go to the temple. Not only does it make us appreciate the temple even more, but while the kids are in the back doing their thing it gives Jon and I the opportunity to talk, and I mean really talk about our life, and just the world around us! Every now and then the kids will step into our conversation, and that's ok too!

Happy Monday everyone!
