Lexie Lately- Her Acceptance Into BYU Provo!

As the years have gone by I've kind of shifted to a point where I don't really write too much about my girls. I know that I post, and write a lot about Noah, and our family adventures, but when it comes to personal things such as relationships, and school I don't want to invade their privacy, and so I leave it up to them to post, or write about whatever they want to write about on their own corner of the internet.

However, I do want to share some exciting news, and it's only because Lexie posted it on her Instagram, and just as her sister is doesn't mind me sharing it on here. She got accepted into her first choice of school which is Brigham Young University in Provo. This has been her main choice o school for the past four years, but the fact that she was wondering what classes were required for her major had her worrying that BYU wouldn't have them, but after doing her research they did have the pre-requisites for her major. She still applied to three other colleges as back ups, and was accepted to all of them.

Princeton University reached out, and wanted her as well. She scored very high on her SAT's, and last October received an admissions packet from this wonderful Ivy League school, but after doing some serious research, and pondering didn't have the classes she would need. It would have been nice to have an Ivy League alumni in this family, but if you know Lexie she thinks with her head and knew that wasn't the direction she wanted to take. Michigan State, Northern Michigan University, and Washington State were here three backups, and they all had scholarships for her, but she was still waiting to hear from the Y.

For a while she was considering Northern Michigan because of the background of the school, and all its advantages including the scholarship money they were going to give her which was a lot, but her heart was rooting towards BYU. I knew she would get in, but she is the type of person who has a backup plan just in case things don't work out! Well, she found out this past weekend via email that she did in fact get in, and even though she didn't jump up and down, and was calm she truly was all smiles just as you see in the picture above with her friends from SOAR

Her goal is to start this fall, and I pray that all will go well with her plans, and that she will achieve her goals. I am positive that she will. She is one ambitious girl who is focused and doesn't allow any petty drama interfere with her life. She knows she'll have trials along the way just as we all do, but because of her faith knows how to handle them. Her knowledge, and faith in God is one thing that will help her get through this thing we all call life.
